This 6-day desert tour from Marrakech to Fes combines the Sahara with a real visit of Fes. First, you follow the kasbah road to the Dades Valley. Then, you sleep in the Erg Chebbi dunes and explore the desert by 4×4. Finally, you reach Fes, spend a full day with a local guide, and fly home from Fes.

Your driver meets you at your riad or hotel in Marrakech. First, you cross the High Atlas by the Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2,260 meters. Next, you explore the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. Then, you pass Ouarzazate and the Rose Valley to Boumalne Dades for dinner in a riad. About 7 hours of driving.
After breakfast, you walk along the river in Todra Gorge. Next, you continue through Tinjdad and Erfoud to Merzouga. In the late afternoon, you ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset. Dinner and Berber drums at the camp end the day. About 4.5 hours of driving.
Wake early for sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, a 4×4 takes you to a nomad family and to Khamlia, a village known for Gnaoua music. Then, you see the palm groves and the seasonal lake, which holds water only after rain. Dinner and the night are in a hotel facing the dunes.
After breakfast, you follow the Ziz Valley north. After lunch in Midelt, you cross the Tizi n’Talghemt pass at 1,907 meters and the cedar forest of Azrou, where wild Barbary macaques live. Finally, you pass Ifrane and reach your riad in Fes. About 8 hours of driving.
A licensed local guide leads you through Fes el-Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You see the Royal Palace gates, the Mellah, the Al Attarine Madrasa and the Chouara Tanneries. No long drives today.
After breakfast, you have a free morning in the medina. Then, your driver takes you to Fes-Saïss airport for your flight home.
