Day 1: Marrakech, the Ounila Valley, Ait Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate
Your driver meets you at your riad or hotel in Marrakech. First, you cross the High Atlas by the Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2,260 meters. Next, you follow the Ounila Valley, with its earthen villages. Then, you explore the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and spend the night in Ouarzazate. About 4.5 hours of driving.
Day 2: The Draa Valley, Nkob, Rissani and the Merzouga Desert Camp
After breakfast, you follow the palm groves of the Draa Valley and cross the arid plains to Nkob, a village of many kasbahs. Then, you continue to Rissani and Merzouga. In the late afternoon, you ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes for sunset. Dinner and Berber drums at the camp end the day. About 8 hours of driving.
Day 3: Merzouga, Todra Gorge and the Dades Valley
Wake early for sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, you drive west through Tinjdad to Todra Gorge and walk along the river between towering limestone cliffs. In the afternoon, you reach Boumalne Dades for dinner and the night. About 4.5 hours of driving.
Day 4: The Rose Valley, Skoura and Marrakech
After breakfast, you pass Kalaat M’Gouna, the Rose Valley, and the Skoura palm grove. Then, you cross Ouarzazate and the High Atlas again. Finally, you reach Marrakech by early evening. About 6.5 hours of driving.
